Since I was in my 20s, I’ve complained about brain fog, lethargy, irritability, depression, anxiety. None of it made sense. Late in the day / evening I feel like a totally different person – happy, energetic, focused. But from morning until about 2pm I am a different person and it’s been this way for so long. I’ve lost a few relationships over this in the past due to my high irritability and anxiety levels. It’s felt like something toxic was in my blood.

I cannot wait to get this fixed!

I have a sleep doctor I’m working with but they cannot get me a CPAP for another 2 weeks (not sure why). I don’t want to wait anymore and I think it’s time to just buy one online. Does anyone have any recommendations for devices I should use and purchase online vs waiting for my doctor to perscribe a device? Are there specific ones for specific sleep apnea issues / body types / yadda yadda?

The other big question I have is – obviously I shouldn’t have sleep apnea and it must be something genetic / physiological rather than age / weight induced. Since that’s the case – isn’t getting a CPAP just treating the symptoms and not the root of the problem?

To me the root of the problem seems to be a blocked airway either due to obstruction or overall narrowness or maybe inflammation. My sleep doctor had no recommendations on how to solve the actual source of the issue (saying, I don’t recommend scoping / surgery, CPAP will do to help you with with no risk). But I want to know why this is happening to me and I don’t want to have restricted airflow for the rest of my life.
