So I was recently discharged from the hospital for acute respiratory failure with hypoxia and hypercapnia and told I have sleep apnea. The doctor wanted me sent home with a bipap or CPAP machine but insurance said no, that I had to do a sleep study first. My sleep study is the 24th and I’m terrified to fall asleep, I’ve been sleeping in a recliner and it’s horribly uncomfortable. I feel like I’m getting less sleep now (out of fear of dying in my sleep).

So what’s the best sleep position? I’ve ready that on my left side is ideal, so can I wedge myself in somewhere that way I won’t roll over in my sleep?

What’s the odds of me dying in my sleep? I’m just trying to get to my sleep study. Lol.
