I was set up with a ResMed Auto 10 For Her and the AirFit f20 full face mask at the beginning of this week for mild OSA (~ 7 AHI).
I’ve been able to adjust to it pretty easily as my starting pressure is 4. Even with just this my AHI has been 1 each night I’ve used it.
My only issue is the face mask. Not only is it very hard to get a good seal, but the top of the mask pinches my upper nostrils making it harder to breathe through my mouth.
Yesterday I woke up with a migraine, which has happened before, but it’s super uncommon for me. The bridge of my nose was very sore and I am thinking the mask may have triggered the migraine or made it worse at the very least.
I have an appointment with my CPAP provider in 2 weeks for a new mask that goes under the nose, but I’m worried about using it between now and then. Yesterday’s migraine was one of the worst I’ve ever had.
Does anyone have experience with this or any tips to reduce the likelihood of another migraine from it? I will continue to use the mask in case it was just a coincidence, but if it happens again I simply won’t be able to use my CPAP until I get a new one.
I’m really worried about insurance compliance. Does anyone know if it is possible to call and explain to them so that they won’t count it has non compliance? Or am I just screwed? Because I refuse to torture myself with migraines for the next 2 weeks.
