Hi! First time posting. I hope someone can give me some advice, because I’m a zombie every day and it’s kind of ruining my life.

I’ve always had trouble sleeping / feeling exhausted all day. I went in a few years ago for a sleep study, they said I had mild sleep apnea. My Dr had me use a dreamstation at it’s lowest setting. I couldn’t keep the mask on, so I manually upped the pressure to 9 with the humidifier and I’ve been able to fall asleep. I only use a nasal mask, not a full one.

Now I feel more tired than when I didn’t use the CPAP. I wake up exhausted, and I literally can’t complete sentences without a giant cup of coffee. I end up having to take a nap in the middle of the day, otherwise I can’t stay awake. I also have terrible pressure behind my eyes.

I spoke to my Dr. today, he said that I probably need a stimulant called Provigil – but suggested I lower my CPAP setting to 6 and try it for a week to see what happens – and then try sleeping without a CPAP.

Has anyone had this experience? If so, what did you do? I’m not in love with taking a stimulant, to be honest. Is there anything more my doctor can do? He told me to bring my SD card in so they can look at the data, but that was only after I suggested it – so I’m not sure what that will do.
