As the title suggests, I had an at-home sleep study prescribed by my doctor. The 4.9 AHI result means my insurance won’t cover anything going forward. I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in forever by sheer luck; I always go to bed at the same time each night (9 pm) and fall asleep immediately. I have a normal BMI. I eat right, exercise daily, don’t smoke, and I very rarely drink. 1 drink a month at most.

Meanwhile last night I woke up at least 3-4 times gasping for air and had trouble falling back to sleep. And this morning I felt like I had just ran for 10 miles, completely out of breath.

My doctor said I could get a mouth guard (I wear a retainer from having braces…). They said I could sleep on my side, which I already do. And I can’t get a CPAP now since it has to be prescribed.

I’m looking for suggestions as to what I can do from here, if anything. I just want to know what good, consistent sleep feels like. I’m tired of being tired all the time.
