I’m a couple of weeks into CPAP therapy now. Had a very easy time getting started. No real issues the first week or so, with several hours of good sleep every night and low AHI numbers.

In the last week I had a couple of bad nights. Trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. Last night was particularly bad. The mask felt suffocating every time I started to drift off.

I slept a few hours, fitfully, without the mask.

This morning I tried again, and it was like night and day. The mask felt fine, I promptly fell asleep, and had a couple of hours of restful sleep.

Last night I had wine with dinner, and a couple of drinks after. I thought back, and every night that I’ve struggled with the CPAP, there was alcohol consumed.

Guess I’m on the wagon now.
