Hello all, I joined this sub out of desperation. I’m a 25 year old female, healthy, aside from terrible sleeping issues. My insomnia keeps me up quite a bit, I thrash consistently through the night, restless legs, and I believe I have sleep apnea. I quite often wake up dozens of times through the night gasping for air/short of breath/wondering when the hell I breathed last. I recently started experiencing choking problems in my sleep as well, struggling desperately to get enough air past my throat, while dreaming I was drowning or being suffocated. This doesn’t happen quite as often, but I do have migraines about every other day when I wake up, feeling like utter shit.

I’m having extreme anxiety going to bed every night due to how unpleasant my nightly experiences are. I’m never tired, my heart beats fast, and I roll around all night with occasional chest pain, headache, and restlessness. I sometimes can’t sleep until 4 AM, with the average being 2-3 AM, then it is highly fragmented after that point

I think the only way for the sleep study to actually get a measure on me is by taking melatonin, which I don’t usually use, but it works when I do. Is this allowed? Any tips?
