I no longer have sleep apnea! I went from 50.3 events per hour to 3.3, losing 35 lbs and 6.5 BMI points along the way.
For the curious, I made the decision to speak to my respiratory therapist when I noticed I was burping constantly, especially in the morning. He had me adjust the pressure down from 11 to 10 to 9. I dropped it all the way to 4 a few nights later (the lowest setting on the machine).
Now I’ve had the results of my take-home study back and I am officially free to discontinue use. Goodbye, expensive Darth Vader machine! I will only miss you when I want to breathe under a pile of blankets.
