I don’t really know where else to go from here. My pulmonologist isn’t very informative at all, and I keep reading about stuff like CPAP vs Aflex vs Bipap vs etc etc etc and I can’t wrap my head around it. It all sounds the same and it’s exhausting getting my hopes up and trying something new when I still just feel like I’m suffocating whenever I have the mask on. Getting the pulmonologist’s office to adjust my machine has always been a huge phone-tag hassle, but they’ve has adjusted the pressure several times and it all feels impossible for different reasons.
Anyway. I’ve been doing the diet and exercise thing, hoping that when my weight goes down some of the OSA issues will lessen. I’m down about 30 pounds and have another 50 to go before I get to the “overweight” BMI, so. Who knows.
My brother showed me a Youtube ad for this…Jawzercise thing? and started talking like it was gonna save my life. He’s saying that it works muscles in your neck and throat which will improve my apnea symptoms and I’m an idiot if I don’t try it and all this other stuff. I’ve been tuning him out because he’s pushing it so hard, but he’s not stopping.
I’m not against trying something if I’m not just gonna be funneling my money into someone’s scheme. I can’t tell if this thing is BS or not. Has anyone here done anything like this to strengthen their neck and throat, and has it made any kind of a difference with their apnea? Should I be entertaining this at all?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
