I THINK I’m tired all the time. I can MAKE it through days competently and without a nap, but I really feel like I’ve become stupid. My memory is working at 50% capacity many days, I will slur words, and I just feel slow most of the time.

A few reasons I say it might be apnea (and I will preface this by saying I’m an engineering student who really needs a fully functioning brain, but I can be a bit of a hypochondriac. I don’t think I have bad anxiety, but I do have some, especially socially):

  • I get 7-9 hrs of sleep, but can almost always nap 1-2 times per day. My naps help, but they act as an only temporary boost.

  • I occasionally snore. After talking to my orthodontist about my teeth grinding, she of all people said it could* be apnea and asked if I snored. I didn’t know, installed an app, and found that I snore a decent number of nights, though not all (based on the app).

  • With the same app, I have found that I talk often in my sleep and have sometimes interesting breathing patterns. No very obvious choking, but the app will pick up on natural breathing frequencies and every once in a while, a breath will be 2-4 second longer than usual followed by a kind of vibration noise- like a groan sort of. The app doesn’t pick up on these things every night.

  • My eye twitches pretty frequently. I drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day and am not stressed. I am very well hydrated.

  • I can’t make it as far into the night as my friends. Once I hit 10/11 PM, I simply cannot talk fast or intelligently. My words will slur and I’m out of the count pretty early.

  • I yawn throughout the day.

I’m sorry for the text wall, but I would absolutely love some feedback from people who it wasn’t super obvious for. I haven’t taken food allergies or exercise out of the equation, but I eat decently well and will lift and run 3/4 times a week. I had some previous vitamin deficits (D and B12), but have supplemented accordingly, Any anecdotes or suggestions would be super appreciated. Thanks guys.
