The place that sold me the Philips Respironics Dreamstation said that it was a brand new machine. I asked specifically not to be given a recycled/fleet machine. The machine makes a sound when I breathe through it, kind of like a high pitched hum or low whistle. The sound goes up and down in pitch with each inhalation/exhalation. You can hear the sound here:
How Can She Pap – CPAP Whistle Sound
I have had it a few nights (I have been sleeping with my CPAP every night, all night for more than 15 years, AMA). My old machine did not make the sound.
I could not find any leaks or problems with the machine or seals or structure. No cracks, no fissures. Anyone know what’s going on here? Do I need to send the machine back? I would hate to…took me a long time to find a place that would sell me a machine without all the hassle. I did look the place up, seems legit, with legit reviews.
Any ideas, CPAP users? Thanks!
