Been using CPAP for about five years. While it’s been life changing, problems such as leaks, pulling off the mask at night, and expensive repairs have made me consider surgery. After doing another sleep study, my doctor says I’m a good candidate for surgery, as my apnea is mild to moderate. I have extremely enlarged tonsils that have been an issue since I was a child, and would probably consider having them removed regardless of apnea, just because they always get so irritated. Because I’m in my late 30s however, I have the usual concerns about surgery. I think my main concern is relapse or the problem getting worse in the future. I know opinions on this surgery are a mixed bag, but I’d like any feedback just to kind of help me make my decision. It would be nice to hear from someone who had similar issues with tonsils. Cheers.
