I’ve woken up not feeling rested for about a decade now. I’m 28 now. The first 5 years or so, I attributed my exhaustion to my irregular sleep schedule, but in 2016 I started suspecting it could be sleep apnea (snoring, gasping for air, waking up every hour, etc.). I didn’t have health insurance, so I just had to wait. Five years later, I now have insurance and I finally got an appointment to get a sleep study done in July! I have a couple of questions:
- Approximately how long did you suffer from sleep apnea without being treated?
- Why did you wait that long to get a sleep study done?
I feel like I waited too long, and now my brain will never recover from hypoxia.
