Years ago when I was a little heavier and my apnea was worse, I kept having dreams of being bit by snakes and stung by bees. I would always startle awake from these. I lost weight, my apnea got less severe, and though I didn’t notice it, the dreams stopped. Now I’ve gained a little COVID weight, my sleep quality is worse, and I had the first of these dreams in years. It just occurred to me that these dreams might be my brain’s way of waking me up when I’m not breathing. Anyone else have similar experiences?
